We welcome others to join our team anytime whether serving directly with the children or behind the scenes.  We have both short term and long term service opportunities for those who are approved to be on the Children's Ministry team.  Experience working with children is not necessary but loving the Lord and kids is a must!  To gain a better understanding of direct ministry roles, it may be helpful to observe a children's group prior to making a service commitment.  Arrangements for observing a group of kids may be made with our Children's Ministry Director, Georgia Briggs at gbriggs@westviewcommunity.com.

We strive to provide a safe and secure environment for ministering to kids.  All potential volunteers, who are 16 years and up, desiring to work directly with children, are required to complete a volunteer application and background check.  Both are available at the children's check-in station.  Those who are between the ages of 10 to 15 years are encouraged to serve as role models with children and assist leaders as needed.  These younger helpers are required to fill out a Youth Mentor Application (also available at the children's ministry station) prior to serving on a regular basis.

The team approach is used in ministry so no one serves alone with a group of children. 

T E A M stands for together everyone achieves more!  Because God chooses to accomplish His will through a variety of people, we view each individual's uniqueness and gifting as a significant contribution.  Every role is vital whether leading or assisting or serving behind the scenes.

To equip and support those working directly with children, training is available on site by serving with an experienced volunteer and/or attending scheduled training sessions.  Online training and other resources are also an option.   Key leaders may have the opportunity to attend off site training made available through the church as well.
