Georgia enjoyed her childhood with loving parents in Norfolk , Nebraska.  At the age of 9 years old, she became a Christian, thanks to her mother’s faith and example. Through her faith journey, the desire to know and follow God’s Word grew. Following high school, Georgia earned an A.A. in Christian Education/English Bible at Nebraska Christian College in 1983. She then served a ten month internship in San Juan, Puerto Rico, teaching 6th graders at a Christian Day School.  Shortly after her return to the states, she attended Manhattan Christian College and graduated with a B. A. in Cross Cultural Ministries in 1986.  

She married Pat Briggs, a Manhattan native in 1987.  Professionally, she worked several years with developmentally challenged adults until she had her first child. The next 10 years she cherished staying home to raise her four children: Graham, Travis, Kerri and Shane. During those years she eagerly served in Children’s Ministry. 

In May of 2002, Georgia sensed God leading her to Westview to serve as a part time staff person within the Children’s Ministry. Recognizing that parents/guardians are most influential in a child’s life, her ministry role is to partner with them in the spiritual training of their child. She believes the setting for Children’s Ministry should allow opportunities for children to explore and develop their gifts as they minister to others. Georgia prefers the “hands on” approach to learning where kids are encouraged to discover Biblical truths for themselves. Her passion is for children to experience the life changing love of Jesus Christ and then share it with others as they prepare to be future leaders.

Her hobbies include nature walks, playing ball with her kids and watching them play on sports teams as well as supporting them in other endeavors. She enjoys watching college basketball, having played the post position in both high school and college at 6 foot 3 inches tall!
